Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Soreyn collects, processes, and protects your information, the strict purpose limitations we enforce, and your rights and controls over your data.
1. Scope and Core Privacy Principles
This policy applies to your use of Soreyn on iOS, watchOS, the web, and related services. Soreyn is designed with privacy-first principles: your workout routes and health data are stored locally on your device, we process data solely for workout recording and account authentication, and we never sell your personal information, location records, or fitness metrics to advertisers or third-party brokers.
2. Account and Authentication Data
To access Soreyn, you create an account with an email address, user identifier, and display name, authenticated securely via Sign in with Apple or email authentication. This information is processed strictly to maintain your account, authenticate your session, verify legal agreements, secure against abuse, and provide customer support if requested. To manage service quotas and free-tier activity limits, Soreyn records the aggregate count and cycle timestamps of activities performed within a monthly period associated with your account identifier. Detailed workout routes, GPS coordinates, sensor metrics, and health data remain strictly on your device and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers for quota management.
3. Workout, Location, and Sensor Data
When you explicitly start a workout recording, Soreyn records location coordinates, timestamps, duration, distance, pace, speed, elevation, estimated active energy, and sensor samples (such as heart rate and step counts). Location data is collected exclusively while an activity is actively recording in the foreground or background, and is used solely to measure your distance, pace, and route. Soreyn does not track your location when an activity is not recording. All activity records and GPS tracks are saved in the private app database on your device.
4. Non-Medical Nature and Sensor Accuracy Limitations
Soreyn is a fitness tracking and personal performance application, not a medical device or healthcare provider. Metrics such as heart rate, active energy, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, elevation, and speed are approximations and may contain errors, deviations, or signal gaps caused by hardware limitations, environmental factors, sensor placement, or GPS satellite availability. These metrics are provided solely for personal informational tracking and must not be used for medical diagnosis, illness monitoring, health screening, or emergency response.
5. Apple Health and System Permissions
Access to Apple Health, device location, and Apple Watch motion sensors is entirely optional and under your control. When granted, Soreyn reads workout, route, distance, active energy, heart-rate, step, respiratory-rate, and blood-oxygen categories only to display your personal workout history, sensor charts, and route replay on this device. Soreyn may also write completed workouts to Apple Health upon your authorization. In accordance with Apple Developer guidelines, HealthKit data is never sold, leased, or shared with advertising networks, marketing platforms, or data brokers. Permissions can be modified or revoked at any time in iOS Settings or the Apple Health app.
6. iCloud Settings Backup Boundaries
If enabled, Soreyn’s iCloud settings backup synchronizes only non-health user preferences—such as unit system, display choices, and feature preferences—via your private iCloud account. System permissions, workout sessions, GPS routes, notes, body measurements, personal fitness targets, and Apple Health records are strictly excluded from Soreyn iCloud backups and remain solely on your device. Turning off iCloud backup halts future preference sync and allows you to remove existing snapshots in Activity & Data.
7. Purpose Limitation and Service Providers
Your information is processed solely to provide core app functionality: recording workouts, displaying performance analytics, administering subscriptions, and maintaining your account. We do not sell, rent, or monetize your data, nor do we use your records for targeted advertising or marketing profiles. We engage trusted infrastructure providers under strict confidentiality to support essential app operations: (a) authentication and cloud hosting to maintain your user account and activity allowances; (b) in-app purchase and subscription verification (such as RevenueCat) to validate App Store receipts and manage access entitlements; and (c) environmental weather services (Apple WeatherKit) to retrieve conditions during workouts. These service providers are strictly prohibited from using your data for any other purpose. Detailed GPS route coordinates, sensor samples, personal notes, and Apple Health records are never shared with subscription or analytics providers and remain strictly on your device.

You have full control over your data. You can permanently erase all local activity history, routes, and cached records using the Erase Activity History option in Settings > Activity & Data. You can permanently delete your Soreyn account at any time directly in the app under Settings > Account & Profile > Delete Account, which immediately terminates your account and authentication credentials on our servers.
9. Security and Safeguards
We implement industry-standard organizational and technical safeguards, including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, keychain storage for local tokens, and strict database access controls. While no electronic system is completely infallible, we continuously monitor and update our security practices to protect your information.
10. Children’s Privacy
Soreyn is not directed at children under the age of 16 (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that personal data of a child has been collected without verifiable parental consent, we will promptly delete that information.
11. Policy Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product updates or legal requirements. Material revisions will be posted with an updated effective date.
